Columbus HUG: April 10
One of my personal goals this year was to be more open towards the community of practice I work in. This would be DevOps , Cloud Computing or Architecture in general. I have , in the past, signed up to go to meetups and chickened out in the last minute. Why ? I have no idea. As a self-proclaimed introvert, networking by any means was a tedious task in my head.
Face your fear or demons they say. I know I am cheating a little with the DevOps meetups. The idea of having a common language or theme to talk about makes it less daunting compared to any other ones. But, hey ! You hae to start somewhere.
I am glad I did and I had the opportunity to interact with Bryan Krausen over his wonderful presentation on Consul. I went in there seeing Consul as the Network Automation
product in the HashiCorp suite of tools without really knowing what it was. I definitely came out of it knowing what to talk about in another interaction with anyone discussing Consul. Thank you , Bryan for the talk, Mark for arranging this and Veeam for the hospitality.
